How You Get To Kimbri

Kimbri is an easy drive from Sydney. Take the M4 freeway to the Blue Mountains (signposts Penrith, Katoomba) and then continue through Katoomba, Mt. Victoria, Hartley (do not take the turn off to Jenolan Caves) and on to the outskirts of Lithgow where you will see a large Shell roadhouse. At that roadhouse you will see a left turn to Rydal. Take that turn, cross over the dam wall at lake Lyell, continue for about 5 kilometres (ignore one left branch road which is Martins Rd) until you come to a “T” intersection at the top of a steep hill.

Turn right at this intersection and travel less than  2 kilometres where you will see “Kimbri Drive on your right at which a long line of tall pine trees commences. Continue past “Kimbri Drive about 150 metres and you will see the front gate of “Kimbri” on your right in the middle of the line of pine trees.

The Dubbo XPT train leaves Sydney daily at 7:10 am and stops at Rydal village by request (which you make when you book your ticket with Countrylink -  phone 132232  or online at We will meet you at the station. The train arrives at 9:50 am and departs Rydal for Sydney every afternoon at 6pm. It is best just to book your trip up since you will invariably get a lift back to Sydney with one of your classmates.
